Greenheck’s new Energy Recovery Filter System incorporates energy recovery technology into kitchen exhaust hoods. The system captures the waste heat produced by the cooking appliances that would otherwise be exhausted from a kitchen hood and uses it to preheat a portion of the incoming water supply that is directed into the patented energy recovery filters.

Spirax Sarco has released its new wireless steam trap monitoring system — STAPS Wireless. The system is designed to deliver accurate wireless monitoring and reporting of steam trap performance around the plant. According to the company, it is important for steam users to keep track of the performance of steam traps because leaking or blocked traps waste energy and water, where as a healthy steam trap population allows condensate to be removed from the steam system effectively which means it can be re-used. This helps contribute to reduced fuel costs, energy savings, and reduced water charges.

Honeywell unveiled its new commercial wireless fire alarm system developed to protect challenging applications and high-cost installations, as well as building expansions. The Smart Wireless Integrated Fire Technology (SWIFT) detectors and modules integrate with new and existing fire alarm systems from Fire-Lite Alarms, Gamewell-FCI, and NOTIFIER.

Grundfos has launched its VLC and VLSC in-line pumps with CUE drive. Available in 30 different models, the products offer a sole-source supplier for pump, motor and drive, allowing all components to work together as efficiently as possible. Speed control pumps like the VLC and VLSC offer energy savings of up to 50%, according to the company. The manufacturer also said the CUE drive matches pump output to system demand, allowing endusers to realize substantial energy savings.
