Creating a better indoor environment sometimes takes a revolutionary step and a new way of thinking. The HVACR industry shows no signs of resting on its laurels as the need for greater energy efficiency, IAQ, and sustainability continues to grow. Engineered Systems asked some the winners of the AHR Expo Innovation Awards winners about current trends and what the future of technology looks like.
Armstrong Fluid Technology has unveiled the new Tango line of pumps. Ranging from 1hp to 10hp, company officials said the new line of Tango pumps is a completely integrated offering designed to further reduce first installed costs as well as ongoing lifetime costs by more than 30% over traditional approaches.
Schaffner has expanded its line of dv/dt filters to include the FN5060HV which protects AC motors up to 690/600VAC from destructive effects of peak voltages and inrush amps. This patented technology protects motors and adjacent equipment without capacitors or resistor. They efficiently reduce high output dv/dt from IGBT motor drives and eliminate over-voltages caused by line reflections on motor cables, per IEC 60034-17/25. Typical dv/dt reduction is a factor of 8 to 12.
The latest multi-zone split system from Fujitsu is the AOU45RLXFZ, five-zone heat pump. The heat pump system permits connection of between two and five indoor units to one outdoor condensing unit. The company says the system offers high efficiency operation of up to 19.7 SEER and 10.3 HSPF.
