The CREST® modulating-condensing boiler is now available with inputs up to six million Btuh. The company claims its new CREST 6.0 model will enable engineers, contractors, and building owners to utilize Lochinvar’s patented Wave™ fire-tube design in their largest commercial applications for energy-saving performance.
Viessmann Manufacturing Company announced the addition of the new Vitocrossal 300, CA3 gas-fired boiler. The company says the boiler is the ideal solution for commercial and industrial applications with multiple venting options and seamless integration in building management systems.
LG Electronics USA introduced its single-phase VRF 5-ton heat recovery system for the U.S. market as part of the company’s expanded line-up of energy-efficient LG Multi V S outdoor units. Ideal residential and light commercial installations, the LG Multi V S lineup now includes 2-ton heat pump and 5-ton heat recovery models designed to provide simultaneous heating and cooling even in extreme weather.
Daikin Applied has introduced new developments with its Magnitude® WME Generation 2 magnetic bearing chiller. Firmly grounded in Daikin’s oil-free, magnetic bearing compressor technology, the Magnitude® WME Generation 2 builds on its performance with a redesign of the single compressor WME models from 400 to nearly 800 tons. The company says the Magnitude WME Generation 2 offers improved performance (especially in harsher climates), lower operating costs, and improved first costs.
EVAPCO, Inc. launched the eco-LSWE and eco-LRWB series of closed circuit coolers. The coolers feature EVAPCO’s Ellipti-fin™ spirally-finned coil and CROSSCOOL™ internal tube enhancement for energy and water efficiency.
Grundfos is extending its SL and SE range of wastewater pumps to include “medium,” “high,” and “super high” hydraulic offerings from 12 hp to 42 hp. Designed to handle raw, unscreened sewage, effluent and large volumes of surface and process water, the company claims the extended selection ensures the highest pump efficiencies over a wider range of demand and the largest free passage of solids at the lowest vibrations.
SPX Cooling Technologies, Inc. introduced the Marley® CP fiberglass, induced draft, counterflow cooling tower, designed for space- and sound-sensitive applications. The CP tower features a stainless steel structure and fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP) casing, which the company says provides a strong, corrosion-resistant assembly. The Marley CP cooling tower is factory-assembled or ships in modules.
Blue Energy Technologies is introducing the SMART Steam Trap, a technology that aims to reduce energy consumption in industrial manufacturing facilities. The technology is a replacement for mechanical steam traps that fail. The company says SMART Steam Traps are more effective because they use venturi technology to collect condensate and block steam. The traps have no moving parts, come with a 20-year performance guarantee, are made from stainless steel.
Many engineers tend to avoid or delegate the nitty gritty of a ground source heat pump system, from soil moisture effects to building system (im) balance. It's time for designers to get in the loop.
