MovinCool®, a brand of DENSO Corporation, unveiled a new Climate Pro™ 18 portable heat pump, which combines both cooling and heating capabilities in a single, self-contained unit. The company says the compact system is 13% smaller and 22% lighter than other comparable heat pumps, yet it offers significantly higher performance. The Climate Pro 18’s cooling capacity is 14,600 Btu/h, the heating capacity is 13,700 Btu/h, and the minimum operating temperature with plenum is 24ºF.
Baldor Electric Company says it has introduced a new adjustable speed direct drive cooling tower system that improves reliability, reduces maintenance, runs quieter, and saves energy. By combining the technologies of the laminated finned frame Baldor-Reliance® RPM AC motor with a high-performance permanent magnet rotor design, this power-dense motor and power-matched adjustable speed drive replaces the right-angle gearbox and jack shaft installation found in many conventional industrial process cooling towers.
Trane is introducing an enhanced Trane® Optimus™ helical rotary water-cooled chiller now available with the Trane® Adaptive Frequency™ drive (AFD). The AFD adjusts motor speed based on demand to reduce energy consumption and, as a result, energy costs. The Optimus chillers have cooling capacities ranging from 150 to 430 tons, making them ideal cooling solutions for most buildings, including high-occupancy schools, hospitals, and hotels.
Desert Aire has unveiled its new Q-Pump Inverter + that uses a variable speed driven compressor. The Q-Pump Inverter + is incorporated into DOAS that are being installed on a geothermal, hybrid or tower/boiler loop, and delivers conditioned air to a building optimizing the performance of its heating and cooling systems. The Q-Pump Inverter + replaces Desert Aire’s Q-Pump.
Baltimore Aircoil Company has launched the new Series 1500 Cooling Tower. The company says its Series 1500 Cooling Tower is one of the most serviceable units without compromising performance and fit. The cooling tower has capacity increases of up to 13%, new configurations almost doubling the tonnage range, reduced sound solutions, 26% reduction in annual maintenance costs, and reliable year-round operation.
Johnson Controls introduced its Coleman® Outfitter™ Ultra High Efficiency Packaged Unit. The company says the unit delivers the highest AHRI-listed efficiencies in the industry — up to 18.1 SEER and 14.35 EER — due to the combination of the unit’s two-stage compressor, variable-frequency drive, high-efficiency indoor/outdoor coil, and premium-efficiency indoor/outdoor motor. A common footprint allows for easy installation on a curb, slab, roof rack, or frame.
Watts Radiant’s SmartTrac is a non-structural, modular panel system, designed to simplify radiant heating and cooling installations in subfloor, wall, and ceiling applications.
Mitsubishi Electric says it has made significant enhancements to its Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) zoning R2-Series and Y-Series cooling and heating systems. Leading efficiencies, a smaller footprint, and improved heating startup make these outdoor units ideal for commercial applications, according to the company.
Seresco USA Inc. has introduced its NV-Series indoor swimming pool ventilation product line featuring a small footprint, light weight, and high efficiencies. The company claims the NV-Series taps the growing natatorium trend of specifying economically-operated, simple-to-maintain, non-compressorized ventilation units for space temperature and relative humidity control in geographical areas with ideal cooler, drier summer climates.
