Bitzer is now offering a range of compressor units for use with the natural refrigerant ammonia (R717). The Bitzer ammonia compressor packs (ACP) are available with a capacity range of 100 to 450 TR. The modular compressor units comprise up to three compressors. For higher capacities, as many as three compressor packs can be connected (up to 9 compressors) and connected to a single controller, increasing the overall capacity up to 1,200 TR. The company says this is ideal for industrial systems.

The company says the controller is ideal for achieving the balance of energy efficiency and occupant comfort in fan coils, heat pumps, PTACs, and other unitary equipment used in spaces with unpredictable occupancy, such as hotel rooms, dormitories, residence halls, assisted living, public housing, and condominiums. It can be installed as a standalone controller or be networked with the ZigBee® based EcoSmart Intelligent Energy Management System for cloud-based total facility management.
For use with its commercial FHP heat pumps, Bosch Thermotechnology offers a DDC Controller option that is preprogrammed and factory installed to be jobsite ready. The optional FHP DDC Controller is installed with the unit’s Unit Protection Module (UPM) which controls the heat pump’s operations and monitors the safety controls that protect it.
