7x24 Exchange founder receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Ken Brill, a founder of the 7x24 Exchange, received the first Lifetime Achievement Award from the organization on June 5 at its conference in Roca Raton, FL. The 7x24 Exchange provides an opportunity for those who design, build, operate, and maintain mission critical infrastructures to share their knowledge.

Bob Cassiliano, chairman and CEO of 7x24 Exchange International, and president and CEO of business information services, presented Brill with the honor.

“7x24 Exchange International is honored to recognize Ken for his lifetime of accomplishments,” said Cassiliano “It is a uniquely special individual that influences an industry with their leadership; Ken Brill is such a person with his significant and demonstrable contribution to the mission critical industry. Ken has been a friend, a mentor, and an industry colleague, and for that I am forever grateful.”

Brill co-founded the Uninterruptible Uptime Users Group (UUUG), now known as 7x24 Exchange International, along with Dennis Cronin, the late Alan Freedeman, Frank Gialanella, Paul Fox, Jon Jackson, and Howie Levison in 1989. Brill also founded both Upsite Technologies and the Uptime Institute, an authority dedicated to improving data center performance and efficiency through research, collaboration, innovation, and education.

W. Pitt Turner IV accepted the award on Brill’s behalf.

“I am honored to be able to accept this award on behalf of my friend and leading data center pioneer, Ken Brill,” said Turner. “Ken’s leadership in the data center space over the last thirty years has led to increased efficiency and operational excellence within the industry.”
