Chillers: Johnson Controls

Johnson Controls has introduced the Quantech Air-Cooled Chillers. The company says the chillers offer up to 50% annual energy cost savings compared with the replaced chillers, have a low lifecycle cost, meet or exceed ASHRAE standards, and help earn LEED credit with a low refrigerant charge. Three models make up the Quantech chiller line. The QTC2 (15-50 tons) provides chilled water for all air conditioning applications using central station air handling or terminal units. The state-of-the-art installation uses tube and fin condensers, brazed plate evaporators, and scroll compressors.

Variable Flow Technology: NexRev

NexRev Inc. says it has developed a new solution to deliver operational cost savings to multisite facility owners. DrivePak Applied combines NexRev’s DrivePak variable flow retrofit technology with its Freedom energy management and control system. The company uses these tools to implement strategies that improve operating efficiency on an expanded range of applied HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and air handling units. According to NexRev, customers can realize an attractive ROI with guaranteed results, and flexible procurement options are available to get projects funded, deployed and saving money as soon as possible.

Chiller: Daikin Applied

Daikin Applied has expanded its Magnitude WMC chiller line to include four additional sizes – WMC125, 200, 225, and 275. The product is ideal for most commercial applications including hospitals, small to midsized data centers, schools, and office buildings. The company says the expanded line provides greater flexibility for engineers who can now closely match chillers to the specifications of the job and apply magnetic bearing chillers on many more projects.
