The National Environmental Balancing Bureau has scheduled several Fall seminars tackling commissioning, TAB, fume hoods, and more.

On Sept. 26 - 29, NEBB will offer its RCx seminar at the Boland Training Center in Gaithersburg, MD. The three-day seminar provides attendees with an overview of retro-commissioning concepts including an overview of the NEBB technical retro-commissioning program, an introduction to the technical retro-commissioning process, investigation process best practices, and activities within the analysis and recommendation phase. The BSC CxCT seminar will be offered Oct. 6-8 in St. Paul, MN. According to NEBB, this seminar provides a knowledge base for individuals to become successful technicians and to encourage the pursuit of the Cx Certified Technician certification. Topics covered include fundamental knowledge of building systems commissioning, understanding of  performing pre-functional and functional tests, air and water system troubleshooting, handling report preparation, and more. NEBB’s Fume Hood seminar will be offered Oct. 10-13 in Kansas City, MO. Topics covered include an overview of laboratory HVAC concepts, including discussions of environmental safety enclosures, such as fume hoods, biological safety cabinets, and other containment enclosures. A review of various HVAC systems currently employed in laboratory design will also be discussed along with basic operation of fume hoods and other containment enclosures and their respective applications and features. On Oct. 12 - 14, NEBB will offer a cleanroom seminar. The seminar will be presented in Holly Springs, NC.  NEBB cleanroom Certified Firms have required instruments to perform testing and at least one CPT Certified Professional who conducts cleanroom performance testing in accordance with the NEBB Procedural Standards for Certified Testing Cleanrooms. The Cleanroom Performance Testing seminar aims to provide practical training needed for this specialized discipline. Attendees will learn from actual case studies and interactive discussions. The TAB Fall seminar will take place Oct. 17-20 in Rosewell, GA. The TAB Seminar review will cover engineering principles, charts, diagrams, problem solving, and techniques involved with TAB work. In addition to practical TAB experience, seminar attendees must have a minimum working capability in mathematics, including geometry and second-year high school algebra. The BSC Fall seminar will be offered Oct. 31-Nov. 3 at the Boland Training Center in Gaithersburg, MD. This course covers the basic commissioning process for all disciplines and the specific requirements for mechanical (HVAC) and control systems. Topics covered include the NEBB building systems technical commissioning program. It will also cover the commissioning process with emphasis on development of commissioning plans, the commissioning schedule, commissioning communications, marketing commissioning services, estimating commissioning services, and technology reviews of HVAC, controls, and more.
