Coyne College students win Women in the Trades scholarships
Giselle Gomez and Veleska Novorolsky, students in Coyne College’s Electrical Construction and Planning degree program in Chicago, each received $1,500 from Women in the Trades (WITT). WITT scholarships are awarded to women seeking to advance their education in traditionally male-dominated industries. The scholarships were introduced this year by The Dwyer Group®, a holding company with more than 1,500 franchises offering household services and repairs in 10 countries.
“We congratulate Giselle and Veleska on their scholarship awards,” said Russell Freeman, president of Coyne College. “We would also like to recognize our instructor Virginia Hanson, who has taken an active role in working with our female students and assisted Giselle and Veleska in securing their scholarships. Virginia’s efforts are another example of how Coyne College goes the extra mile to help ensure the success of our students in their chosen fields.”
