MovinCool CM25 air conditioner wins Frost & Sullivan award

MovinCool® announced that its CM25 air conditioner has been conferred the prestigious Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific New Product Innovation Award. The award criteria included innovation; leading-edge technologies; value-added features and benefits; customer value; and customer-acquisition and market-penetration potential.

The CM25 is a self-contained, ceiling-mounted air conditioner that offers the industry’s highest cooling capacity for an air conditioner of its class, according to the company, but at a lower cost than conventional solutions such as precision cooling systems. It has a total cooling capacity of 25,000 Btu/h and a high sensible cooling capacity of 18,900 Btu/h.

The compact CM25 was specifically designed for server rooms and other spaces with dense heat loads. The unit is only 20 inches high, enabling it to fit above a drop ceiling. A built-in mounting bracket, flanges and vibration isolators allow easy, low-cost installation using standard, off-the-shelf hardware. Unlike split systems, the CM25 requires no external compressor and condenser, further reducing installation and maintenance costs.

The unit’s environmentally friendly, 14 SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) is made possible by an energy-saving, variable-speed inverter compressor and inverter fan motors. Other green features include R-410A refrigerant and RoHS compliance.

“As an engineering breakthrough, the CM25 is the result of our company’s dedication to continual improvement and innovation,” said John Doran, senior manager of Commercial and Industrial Systems. “We are very honored to receive this award and for the accomplishment it recognizes.”

MovinCool, the world’s largest manufacturer of spot air conditioners, is a brand of DENSO Corporation, which has pioneered the concept of workspace spot cooling since the 1980s. MovinCool offers a wide range of portable and ceiling-mount air conditioning systems for many different applications, such as emergency, backup and supplemental cooling, as well as moisture removal.
