MacroAir has released its new industrial fan line called AirVolution-D. According to the company, because of direct-drive motor technology, AirVolution-D is lighter, sleeker, and smarter without sacrificing power or efficiency. By completely eliminating the gearbox that can be found on traditional high-Volume, low speed (HVLS) fans currently on the market, more than 137 moving parts have been eliminated.
NexRev Inc., announced the availability of the DrivePak™ Advanced Rooftop Control (ARC). The control is an expanded model of the company’s DrivePak HVAC retrofit upgrade, which the company says incorporates advanced controls allowing customers to further capitalize the savings from DrivePak as well as additional prescriptive energy rebates and incentives.
Pottorff is has introduced its new EXA-645 combination louver. The company says it is a high-performance louver with Best-In-Class AMCA certified performance for free area (50.4%) and a pressure loss of 0.15 in. wg. @1,272 fpm (6.46 m/s). The EXA-645 features stationary drainable louver blades that protect against water penetration along with an integral airfoil blade control damper which will allow for positive shutoff protection from air intake and exhaust openings.
AMETEK Rotron has released a 19-in rack mountable liquid cooling heat exchanger assembly. The unit is one of a variety of similar heat exchangers that are designed to dissipate over 10kw of heat in demanding operating environments. The heat exchanger assembly is enclosed within a ruggedized 6U (10.5-in) aluminum chassis. The company says the unit is designed for years of reliable service in harsh and demanding applications, including military and commercial equipment racks.
Groschopp, Inc. introduced a Brushless DC Motor and Control package. Groschopp’s family of brushless DC motors and gearmotors have been tested for pairings with the brushless DC control product line giving engineers a brushless DC motor and control package designed for optimal operation.
Greenheck’s new Energy Recovery Filter System incorporates energy recovery technology into kitchen exhaust hoods. The system captures the waste heat produced by the cooking appliances that would otherwise be exhausted from a kitchen hood and uses it to preheat a portion of the incoming water supply that is directed into the patented energy recovery filters.

They are also capable of providing information that ensures an HVAC system is performing to specifications.
Spirax Sarco has released its new wireless steam trap monitoring system — STAPS Wireless. The system is designed to deliver accurate wireless monitoring and reporting of steam trap performance around the plant. According to the company, it is important for steam users to keep track of the performance of steam traps because leaking or blocked traps waste energy and water, where as a healthy steam trap population allows condensate to be removed from the steam system effectively which means it can be re-used. This helps contribute to reduced fuel costs, energy savings, and reduced water charges.
