Alloys of aluminum are being implemented in heat transfer applications, including hot water boilers, more frequently due to aluminum’s very high conductance of heat. However, aluminum is much more expensive and highly reactive when compared to standard materials used in these applications, such as steel.
Taco Comfort Solutions’ new PF Series plate and frame heat exchangers are ASME designed and constructed. According to the company, computerized product selection greatly simplifies the process of choosing the correct heat exchanger for the required application. The compact size of PF Series heat exchangers, make it an ideal for a wide range of commercial applications.
The reactive metals by classification are zirconium, titanium and beryllium. We also include here
tantalum and columbium (niobium), being from the refractory class and which also present similar
challenges to the welding engineer.
The new TED40x2 low-leakage, insulated control damper from Ruskin® features insulated airfoil blades, which the company says offers greater strength, produces less sound, provides greater sealing ability, and reduces static pressure loss.
A new critical environment damper series from Ruskin® is designed and manufactured to withstand the elements of coastal and corrosive applications. The CD50CE and TED50CE combine the strength of stainless steel and protection of anodized aluminum to combat salt water elements.
Green Link has introduced a family of custom-engineered, molded straps and caps for securing pipes and struts for its KnuckleHead rooftop support product line. Straps have been designed for both Heavy Pipe and Strut support KnuckleHeads while a cap design was developed for Lite Pipe Supports. All are molded from tough, weatherproof urethane and feature a “safety yellow” color.
Bonomi North America is introducing a new series of NSF-Certified butterfly valves with factory-installed electric or pneumatic actuators for potable water applications with high flow requirements. The new N500 Series wafer and N501 lug body valves feature ductile iron body construction with EDPM rubber seats. They are available with stainless steel disc (N500S/N501S) or nylon-coated disc (N500N/N501N). All are approved to NSF /ANSI 61,372. Sizes range from 2 in through 12 in.
Bonomi North America is introducing a new line of automated thermoplastic ball valves for use in plumbing, mechanical, chemical, and other applications. Listed with NSF to Standard 61 for potable water, the new valve packages offer a variety of advanced features that improve operation and enhance reliability, said company officials.
