NexRev Inc., announced the availability of the DrivePak™ Advanced Rooftop Control (ARC). The control is an expanded model of the company’s DrivePak HVAC retrofit upgrade, which the company says incorporates advanced controls allowing customers to further capitalize the savings from DrivePak as well as additional prescriptive energy rebates and incentives.
Greenheck’s new Energy Recovery Filter System incorporates energy recovery technology into kitchen exhaust hoods. The system captures the waste heat produced by the cooking appliances that would otherwise be exhausted from a kitchen hood and uses it to preheat a portion of the incoming water supply that is directed into the patented energy recovery filters.
Grundfos has launched its VLC and VLSC in-line pumps with CUE drive. Available in 30 different models, the products offer a sole-source supplier for pump, motor and drive, allowing all components to work together as efficiently as possible. Speed control pumps like the VLC and VLSC offer energy savings of up to 50%, according to the company. The manufacturer also said the CUE drive matches pump output to system demand, allowing endusers to realize substantial energy savings.
Trane will discuss and showcase offerings to help building owners maximize energy savings when the company takes part in the World Energy Engineering Conference (WEEC).
Danfoss says it has developed the new TU with F-charge TXV to help OEMs meet the new U.S. Department of Energy commercial refrigeration energy efficiency standards. The new F-bulb charge delivers low superheat in low- and medium-temperature refrigeration ranges, includes asymmetric ballast material that is proven to deliver more stable temperature control and, like all Danfoss TXV bulb charges, is HCFC-22 free.
Coolerado claims its new ERV applies HMX performance to create a powerful and efficient energy recovery ventilation. Officials said Coolerado’s ERV supplies ASHRAE Standard 62.1 ventilation rates while dramatically reducing energy consumption. The ERV can be installed separately or in series with a roof top unit (RTU).
According to ASHRAE, when it comes to energy, the residential sector consumes a fifth of all the primary energy used by the United States and more than half of all energy used by buildings.
ASHRAE is seeing papers for a conference on ships and on-land facilities that focus on the challenges related to environment, HVAC, energy security, and health and safety among other topics.
Daikin Applied has added natural gas heating as an option to its Skyline™ commercial outdoor air handler line. The gas heat option provides lower operating cost and increased energy saving solutions for building owners and facility managers, while maximizing HVAC system performance, according to the company.
Trane is introducing an enhanced Trane® Optimus™ helical rotary water-cooled chiller now available with the Trane® Adaptive Frequency™ drive (AFD). The AFD adjusts motor speed based on demand to reduce energy consumption and, as a result, energy costs. The Optimus chillers have cooling capacities ranging from 150 to 430 tons, making them ideal cooling solutions for most buildings, including high-occupancy schools, hospitals, and hotels.
