RC-Hospitality automatically assigns the HVAC/lighting occupancy setting for any room upon guest check-in, enabling the MACH-System™ to improve guest-room comfort and operational efficiency, while delivering analytics for the entire facility.
Johnson Controls has released Metasys 10.0 for building management. The company says the latest Metasys aims to provide facility personnel with smarter building automation, faster responses to critical alarms, and new integrations with fire detection, security, and lighting systems – all with visibility from a single common interface.
Regal Beloit Corp. will debut its Opt2MAX motor platform at the AHR Expo in Chicago later this month. Motivated by feedback from customers looking to upgrade the performance of their air handling systems, Regal engineers designed a solution to conserve power consumption in both full and part load air flow conditions.
Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC) has launched a new family of variable speed products, which the company says offers product compatibility for a true system solution. With NMC’s ACCU-Series™ product line, customers can match a U.S. MOTORS® brand inverter duty motor with an NMC drive or panel or purchase integrated motors and controls. These products are solution driven and are designed to be used together as a system.
JVL says its new MIS23 QuickStep is a series of versatile, compact, economical integrated stepper motors. Integrated stepper motors in the MIS23 series have NEMA 23 flange dimensions of 57 mm by 57 mm and are available in three models with rated torques of: 1.1 Nm (MIS231), 1.6 Nm (MIS232), 2.5 Nm (MIS234) (1000 RPM @ 48VDC). To reduce cost and protect against electrical noise many of the control and communication functions have been integrated with the motor in a housing designed to provide IP42, IP55 or IP65 protection, and eliminating the need for running control and communication cables. Different PCB’s (modules) can be mounted within the housing to create an automation/motion control system that is easy to incorporate into new and existing applications, according to the company.
Grundfos has introduced an expanded line of fully integrated, intelligent pumping systems. Ideally suited for new commercial HVACR applications and deep retrofits, the line now features the MLE variable speed motor in ranges from 3 to 30 HP for building services.
On Demand Modern construction requirements, increased interest in indoor air quality, sustainability and the rising cost of energy are driving adoption of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems in the United States and worldwide. As such, building owners, facility managers and project teams will be responsible for buildings where VRF systems are applied with complementary third-party HVAC equipment.
