Heat Transfer Products Group, LLC (HTPG) has introduced the new Quantum Air Remote Air Cooled Condensers. Designed with California Title 24 regulatory compliance in mind, Quantum Air models are available with one to 14 fans, and with single- and double-fan width models in either vertical or horizontal air flow configurations.
Larson Electronics has released a 24-in explosion proof ventilation fan ideal for areas where flammable gases, vapors, or finely pulverized dusts may exist. The EPF-HPSM-24-480V high-pressure explosion proof ventilation fan from Larson Electronics features three spark resistant cast aluminum blades that move stale air at a rate of up to 6,860 cubic ft per minute. The frame is made of heavy duty 14-gauge steel that is completely arc welded with tubular supports. This unit is rated for use in Class 1 Group D and Class II Groups F and G hazardous areas.
Air Monitor’s ELECTRA-flo/SD is a thermal airflow and temperature measurement system designed for applications in small ducts ranging in size from 4-in to 16-in diameter. The product provides a calibrated output with an accuracy of ±2-3% of airflow reading from 0-3,000 FPM and a temperature measurement accuracy of ±0.15 ̊ F.
The VLT® BACnet/IP MCA 125 option from Danfoss is a plug-and-play solution that allows connection of the VLT® HVAC Drive to building management systems using the BACnet/IP protocol.
SPX Cooling Technologies launched the new Marley NC Everest Cooling Tower, a pre-assembled, crossflow evaporative cooling system that offers a viable alternative to field-erected towers. The company claims the design and field assembly process for the cooling tower reduces on-site labor and work duration for a safer work environment. NC Everest provides more site placement options and typically uses up to 10% less plan area than field-erected towers.
Johnson Controls has released Metasys® 8.0. The company says the BAS enhancements will provide ease of use, faster troubleshooting, less time on task, and reduced risk and easier integrations. Metasys provides essential instrumentation and control to save energy, lower operational costs, and enable efficient and secure operations.
Carrier has introduced a new Performance Series ductless multi-zone heat pump lineup. The company says this new line will offer increased flexibility, greater energy efficiency, and improved operation compared to the previous mid-tier lineup.
Schaffner has expanded its line of dv/dt filters to include the FN5060HV which protects AC motors up to 690/600VAC from destructive effects of peak voltages and inrush amps. This patented technology protects motors and adjacent equipment without capacitors or resistor. They efficiently reduce high output dv/dt from IGBT motor drives and eliminate over-voltages caused by line reflections on motor cables, per IEC 60034-17/25. Typical dv/dt reduction is a factor of 8 to 12.
Kohler Power Systems has completed its first industrial standby diesel generator line powered by a Kohler engine. The fully-integrated Kohler product line utilizes Kohler’s Direct Injection (KDI) diesel engines and includes both Tier 3 and Tier 4 Final models ranging from 15 kW to 60 kW.
Vibration fluctuations in HVAC systems are an early indicator of problems that cause equipment failure such as pump cavitation, unbalanced fans, and bad bearings. Sensaphone’s® new Vibration Sensor can be permanently mounted on equipment like generators, cooling towers, fans, and circulating pumps on chillers and boilers to continuously monitor vibration velocity and detect unusual conditions.
