The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council
July 19, 2004
The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council will recognize professionals who are making exceptional contributions to sustainability across the United States. The council has created a new award category for this year's program: the Exemplary Sustainable Building Award. All building design professionals--including SBIC members and nonmembers--are eligible to participate in this category. This award recognizes institutional, residential, and government buildings that demonstrate the successful application of the whole building design approach. This year's focus will be on the integration of sustainability and cost effectiveness. The winning entry or entries in the Exemplary Sustainable Building category will be published as a case study on the Whole Building Design Guide website (www.WBDG.org). Only SBIC members are eligible to participate in this category, but interested nonmembers are encouraged to visit the council's website, at www.SBICouncil.org), to learn about the benefits associated with council membership.
