Telkonet Inc has released The EcoWave™ occupancy-based wireless unitary HVAC controller. The company says the controller is ideal for achieving the balance of energy efficiency and occupant comfort in fan coils, heat pumps, PTACs, and other unitary equipment used in spaces with unpredictable occupancy, such as hotel rooms, dormitories, residence halls, assisted living, public housing, and condominiums. It can be installed as a standalone controller or be networked with the ZigBee® based EcoSmart Intelligent Energy Management System for cloud-based total facility management.
For use with its commercial FHP heat pumps, Bosch Thermotechnology offers a DDC Controller option that is preprogrammed and factory installed to be jobsite ready. The optional FHP DDC Controller is installed with the unit’s Unit Protection Module (UPM) which controls the heat pump’s operations and monitors the safety controls that protect it.
DuctSox has introduced the OvalSox™, fabric duct designed for low clearance HVAC ventilation in industrial and commercial building applications. OvalSox, which ranges from 11 to 22 in high and 47 to 93 in wide, saves 13 to 27 in of head room versus round HVAC fabric and metal duct alternatives, according to the company. Officials also claim there is no air volume or air dispersion lost with OvalSox versus conventional duct that hangs too low and obstructs industrial overhead conveyors or high rising equipment. OvalSox is also ideal for datacenters with high rising security cages or low hung ceilings in offices and other commercial designs.
According to UV Resources, its new High-Output GLO™ Upper Air Germicidal UV Fixture provides the greatest amount of Ultraviolet-C (UV-C) energy fluence, or dosage, without the use of additional power, heat or special UV lamps. The patent-pending GLO fixture, which stands for Germicidal Light Overhead, delivers up to 350% more irradiance than conventional upper air UV systems. This increase in irradiance levels translates to greater UV-C coverage, enabling infection control specialists to treat more area with fewer fixtures, saving both cost and energy.
Reliable Controls has released several new optional features to its SMART-Sensor™ line of products, providing added functionality while opening the door for more customized installations and promoting the right device for each unique space.
Johnson Controls introduced the Luxaire® Ovation™ Ultra High Efficiency Packaged Unit. The combination of the unit’s two-stage compressor, VFD, high-efficiency indoor/outdoor coil, and premium-efficiency indoor/outdoor motor, delivers up to 18.1 SEER and 14.35 EER.
Rosenberg’s new trestle-design GKHB 5.5kW backward curved fan module combines an electronically commutated (EC) motor with the high-efficiency Rosenberg B-Wheel impeller greater efficiency and easy installation. The new B-Wheel Trestle Module features a standard flexible duct connection.
Victaulic has developed the VicFlex™ Style AB6 Assembly for cold storage applications. The company says the VicFlex reduces hands-on installation time by as much as 75%. With the technology, company officials believe users will no longer have to wrestle with rubber boots or messy foam sprays or wait for glue to dry. There also is no need to cut and measure hard pipe.
Emerson Network Power says its Liebert® HPC-S Chiller is now available around the globe. The company claims the freecooling chiller enables small- to medium-size data centers to achieve breakthrough efficiency by creating an end-to-end chilled water system with integrated controls that can help dramatically lower the facility’s power usage effectiveness (PUE) rating.
Daikin Applied now offers fan array options for its Vision™ indoor, Skyline™ outdoor, and custom air handlers. Daikin’s fan array options, in combination with the modular air handler design and 2-in cabinet variable dimensioning, provide specifying engineers with a number of configurations for design flexibility.
