Danfoss introduced its Magnetic Tool refrigeration app. The app allows HVACR technicians to use their smartphones for magnetic field detection. Company officials said the app serves as a more convenient alternative to the variety of tools HVACR technicians rely on to ensure solenoid valves function properly. The app provides information about the magnetic field of the AC or DC coil in a solenoid valve and can indicate the rotation direction of certain types of pumps. Additionally, the Magnetic Tool app documents the repair and installation process for users by taking a picture of the faulty component and sharing it with the system’s owner. The app is available through the iTunes app store and the Google Play store.
