ASHRAE proposes to move all residential IAQ requirements to Standard 62.2
A new proposal by ASHRAE would require multifamily buildings of any height to fall under ASHRAE’s residential ventilation standard, 62.2. The association says the change is designed to provide consistency of ventilation requirements.
Currently, ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2013, Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, has responsibility for multifamily residential buildings four stories or more, while ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2013, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings, has responsibility for residential buildings three stories and less.
