The latest version of the Pottorff ECD-545 5-in horizontal blade, wind-driven rain louver comes with updated AMCA CRP ratings. The louver now has a Class A rating at a core velocity of 886 fpm for the 29 mph, 3 in/hr simulated AMCA Wind-Driven Rain Test. It now has a Class B rating at a core velocity of 984 fpm for the 50 mph, 8 in/hr test. The manufacturer says this is the best rating in the industry at both points for a stationary horizontal blade louver. The ECD-545 offers protection and is ideally suited for high wind areas or applications that are sensitive to wind-driven rain penetration. It efficiently provides this protection with only 0.15-in of water pressure loss at a free area velocity of 980 fpm.
