Raypak has published a new Standard Buffer Tanks, plus an associated Application/Sizing Guide. Any primary/secondary hydronic system utilizes some form of decoupling. Buffer tanks are needed only when system design includes periods when primary flow may exceed secondary. For correctly sized commercial systems, the size is usually no more than our standard 40 to139 gallons. The Guide describes where they may be needed. Its simple sizing formula accounts for minimum individual loop loads, while retaining the fuel economy and rapid response of high recovery boilers.
Typical system layouts, and buffer tank dimensions are included. For your copy, visit www.raypak.com.
