Bush Seeks $85.7 million for Energy Conservation Research
Hoping to invigorate his energy proposal, President George W. Bush called for more research into developing energy-efficient products and said he wants the federal government to do more to
conserve power--starting in his own house.
Bush also sent to Congress a summary of his
energy proposals that call for expanded oil and
gas development and removal of “regulatory
barriers'” on energy development and distribution.
The plan also includes a call for tax breaks to
encourage energy conservation and investments
in renewable energy sources.
