The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) has announced the appointment of William G. Sutton as president of the internationally known trade association that represents manufacturers of more than 90% of North American produced central air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.

Sutton retired from the U.S. Navy last year with the rank of rear admiral after a diverse and highly successful 30-year career. On January 1, 2002, Sutton will replace Clifford H. "Ted" Rees, Jr.,/b>, who is retiring after eight years as president of ARI.
