KEP (Eatontown, NJ) introduced its new MMI-3000 Industrial PC, a rugged, full-function PC that is designed for harsh factory-floor environments. A Pentium III 700 MHz processor, with up to 384 MB of RAM, powers the MMI-3000. A 15-in. resistive touch screen and bright TFT display provides a 1024 x 768 viewing resolution. The system is housed in a heavy-duty stainless steel case with a dust/water resistant front panel, and withstands heat, cold, oil, water, dirt and abuse. The rubber keyboard with pointing device provides additional durability in tough environments. The system includes an integrated CD ROM and 3.5-in. floppy disk drive, as well as serial and parallel interfaces, and an Ethernet connection to facilitate extended communications and system expansion.
