The company said Alea Air transforms basic HVAC systems by replacing standard registers with smart vents that track and adjust temperature, monitor air quality, and sense other environmental variables. The Alea Air platform uses machine learning and predictive analytics to allocate air based on users’ room-by-room temperature preferences.

Danfoss has released its new RX1200 controller for electric de-icing applications. Designed to complement Danfoss RX de-icing cables for roof and gutter applications, the RX1200 controller helps to extend the life of an outdoor electric heating system and prevent damage and leaks. By sensing both moisture and temperature conditions, the company says the RX1200 can activate or de-activate the cables as needed, reducing energy consumption by up to 75% compared to a controller that measures temperature alone.
Trane has announced the availability of its ComfortLink™ II XL1050, the latest product in the brand’s portfolio of thermostats and smart controls. The ComfortLink™ II XL1050, a Wi-Fi or Ethernet enabled connected control, provides users with the ability to control indoor temperatures on a zone by zone basis, as well as create schedules and presets to customize the temperature based on user preference.
