Dust collectors are used to capture, convey, and collect dust for a wide variety of manufacturing and industrial processes. Whether involving wood, plastic, metal, or chemical dust particles, this is done to improve safety by reducing fire, explosion, and dust inhalation hazards.
Continental Fan has developed its MFT-S Mixed Flow In-Line Fans, available in 4-, 5-, and 6-inch duct diameters. The company says the fans are ideal for either supply or exhaust ventilation systems and are suitable for air temperatures up to 140ºF.
Shannon Enterprises has developed a closed-cell insulation system called the Acoustic Shield. The insulation reduces sound emanating from heating, cooling, and power-generating components found at schools and medical campuses, onboard marine vessels, inside manufacturing facilities, and near retail and residential locations.
Johns Manville has released a flexible fiberglass duct liner with an R-12 thermal resistivity rating. This insulation is designed specifically to meet the new code requirements set forth by the IECC in 2015 that mandate the use of R-12 insulation on ducts in unconditioned spaces in climate zones 5-8.
Sensaphone® has added two new sensors to its line of remote monitoring equipment for HVAC applications. The Sensaphone Duct Mount Air Flow Transmitter measures the rate of airflow and alerts users when conditions fall outside of the preset threshold. The transmitter monitors the presence or absence of cool moving air and measures relative airflow from 0-16 meters per second.
Greenheck’s new line of ceiling radiation dampers are UL classified for installation in wood truss floor/ceiling assemblies. Model CRD-1WT is designed with a plenum box for side inlet or outlet duct connections. Model CRD-2WT’s inlet or outlet duct connection is made on top of the damper.
Haier Ductless is launching a new ductless series designed for light commercial installation as well as large residential applications. The FlexFit Pro series is available from 24,000 Btu to 48,000 Btu.
STULZ Air Technology Systems, Inc. launched its next generation Mini-Space EC precision cooling system for small IT spaces. The Mini-Space EC provides up to 12kW (41 MBH) of cooling while only occupying a 2-ft by 2-ft footprint making it ideal for small IT and telco closets, high-rise buildings, laboratories, and other constrained spaces.
The new Mini-Space EC is available with CW or DX cooling in both up-flow (top discharge) and down-flow (top return) configurations with options for bottom discharge (under floor), front discharge (direct room supply), and ducted rear return (with external filter box).
