Variable frequency drives (VFDs), also known as variable speed drives (VSDs), are used to modulate the speed of motors in various applications, from hydronic water pumping to VAV fan units to vacuum systems.
RectorSeal LLC has introduced the RectorSeal HVACR (RSH) Series of surge protective devices (SPD). The permanently-installed RSH Series is designed to protect all single phase, 120/240-V air conditioning, heat pumps, and ductless mini-split systems (DMSS) from transient over-voltage and natural-cause surges.
Cooper&Hunter added a new series to its current heat pump line-up with single-zone applications. Its design allows full airflow while protecting the condenser from snow and ice and doubles as a summertime heat and ultraviolet sun shade. The design comes in black, grey, or tan colors.
