AMETEK Rotron has released a 19-in rack mountable liquid cooling heat exchanger assembly. The unit is one of a variety of similar heat exchangers that are designed to dissipate over 10kw of heat in demanding operating environments. The heat exchanger assembly is enclosed within a ruggedized 6U (10.5-in) aluminum chassis. The company says the unit is designed for years of reliable service in harsh and demanding applications, including military and commercial equipment racks.
Expanding its new line of SA-Series space heaters, Cambridge Engineering has added the SA350, capable of delivering 350 MBH (350,000 Btus per hour) for commercial and industrial applications. The company says the space heater was designed with the needs of building owners and managers in mind. The heaters patented Blow-Thru® Direct Gas-Fired Space Heaters are built to efficiently and safely heat commercial and industrial facilities. The flagship S-Series is documented to achieve 40% to 70% energy savings over unit heaters or traditional boiler applications, according to officials.
Chromalox says it has introduced a new extreme duty model of its blower heater line. Called the CXH-XD blower heater, the new unit is designed to withstand corrosive and wet environments and is ATEX certified.
Daikin Applied has added natural gas heating as an option to its Skyline™ commercial outdoor air handler line. The gas heat option provides lower operating cost and increased energy saving solutions for building owners and facility managers, while maximizing HVAC system performance, according to the company.
Two new models of duct heaters are now available from Greenheck. Model IDHB is configurable for most applications in sizes up to 36 in by 36 in. Model IDHC is customizable with enhanced features and a maximum heating capacity of 475 Kw.
Marlow Industries Europe GmbH has launched the Climatherm range of Air to Air heat exchangers. The new Climatherm range from Marlow brings increased heat power transfer while remaining within the industry standard footprint, according to company officials. Using thermo electrics at its core, these compact designs provide increased efficiency compared with existing designs. Using the latest heat sink technology and ducted air flow, Climatherm was thermally modeled from its concept to optimize all aspects of the design.
Mitsubishi Electric U.S. Cooling & Heating Division has made enhancements to the P-Series Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i®) heat pump outdoor units for light commercial applications. Featuring H2i technology, the company says its H2i P-Series boasts higher efficiency and performance with improved heating capacity at very low ambient conditions. The units Hot Start process guarantees warm air flow from the start, which is critical in cold climate conditions where heating performance truly counts. Additionally, the P-Series offers multiple fan speeds, and its humidity-reducing dry mode helps to combat excess moisture in rooms.
Engineered Systems magazine’s March 2020 issue showcases how students at one Apple Valley, Minnesota, high school helped the facility achieve LEED Gold; how engineers can design a system to heat a building using a chilled water system, the codes and steps behind adequately design a K-12 safety shelter, and much more.
