Extech Instruments has launched the new CO230 Indoor Air Quality Carbon Dioxide (CO2) monitor. Designed for use in a wide range of building applications ranging from schools to workplaces, the tabletop/wall-mount monitor can alert occupants to issues such as dizziness, headaches and fatigue resulting from inadequate ventilation by measuring and tracking carbon dioxide (PPM), temperature (°F/°C) and humidity (RH%).
The VLT® BACnet/IP MCA 125 option from Danfoss is a plug-and-play solution that allows connection of the VLT® HVAC Drive to building management systems using the BACnet/IP protocol.
Johnson Controls has released Metasys® 8.0. The company says the BAS enhancements will provide ease of use, faster troubleshooting, less time on task, and reduced risk and easier integrations. Metasys provides essential instrumentation and control to save energy, lower operational costs, and enable efficient and secure operations.
Tyco Fire Protection Products, a division of Tyco, introduced the Model RM-1 Riser Manifold. The RM-1, available for commercial and residential uses, features a proprietary connection between the manifold and the Potter alarm switch. The connection has a watertight, flat surface design which helps prevent leaks.
The new Sensaphone® Pressure Sensor is ideal for measuring and detecting loss of boiler pressure in hot water systems at large facilities including hotels, schools, hospitals, universities, and housing communities.
The WSG30™ system from Sensaphone® provides 24/7 remote monitoring of HVAC units, refrigerators, and freezers. It is ideal for locations where hard-wiring sensors are difficult or cost prohibitive. The WSG30 system is a web-based monitoring system that uses wireless sensors to detect problems such as temperature changes (from -109°F to 115°F), humidity fluctuations, water leaks, and power outages. A single WSG30 unit can support up to 30 wireless sensors.
GrayWolf has introduced new multi-parameter air measurement kits that include 7-in, 8-in, or 10-in tablet PCs to meet lower cost DirectSense IAQ, TVOC, TOX, HVAC and AIR applications. Use the smaller tablets for portable display of measurements, “snap-shot” data-logs, and/or short-term trend logging. Additionally, use the 10-in tablet for multi-probe and long-term monitoring. All of the tablets come with cameras that enable direct attachment of photos and videos to data files on-site. The microphones allows for audio note attachment for efficient and reliable documentation of field surveys.
Honeywell unveiled its new commercial wireless fire alarm system developed to protect challenging applications and high-cost installations, as well as building expansions. The Smart Wireless Integrated Fire Technology (SWIFT) detectors and modules integrate with new and existing fire alarm systems from Fire-Lite Alarms, Gamewell-FCI, and NOTIFIER.
When dangerous amounts of CO are detected, the CO1224T and CO1224TR (round) CO detectors alert occupants by sounding and flashing a temp-four signal alarm. With 24/7 central station monitoring, officials with System Sensor said occupants are guaranteed protection from the effects of CO.
Trane has unveiled its EarthWise™ Intelligent Variable Air Systems. The manufacturer claims the system is a key part of a cost-effective, energy-saving building design that can improve HVAC system efficiency by 20% to 30% when compared to a traditional VAV system.
