April’s column kicked off a series that dove deep into the concept of building automation system (BAS) alarms. That series was supposed to end last month, but in the process of writing those articles, I realized I have more to say on the topic. So here is my victory lap!

The ADC105 is an addressable module that works with SIMPLEX ES fire alarm panels. With the ADC105 connected to a SIMPLEX fire alarm system, it allows continuous monitoring and alarm capability if something should go wrong. The ADC105 allows for the periodic testing that is required in NFPA 80 and NFPA 105.

The company says the new TruVu™ Equipment Touch (ET) displays provide facility managers and technicians with an intuitive user interface for managing HVAC equipment in buildings.
According to Det-Tronics, its SmokeWatch™ U5015 uses advanced photoelectric smoke detection technology not generally available in an explosion-proof housing. The detector is rated for Class 1 Division 1, 2, and Zone 1 environments found in industrial applications. Used with the Q5016 Duct Mount Accessory, the detector can be installed on ductwork to meet NFPA 90A requirements for AHUs of more than 2,000 cfm.
