ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — Frank R. Cuaderno, vice president of engineering, Mars Air Systems, was re-elected, and Armin Hauer, Dipl.-Ing., manager, regulatory and government affairs, for ebm-papst; and Edmond Rizk, P.E., executive director, Ontario Specialty Architectural (OSA) Products, were elected to the board of directors of Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International during the organization’s 2019 Annual Meeting in Maui, Hawaii.

Cuaderno has nearly 25 years of industry experience. He is a member of the technical advisory groups for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 117, “Fans,” and NSF/ANSI 37, “Air Curtain for Entranceways for Food and Food Service Establishments,” in addition to serving on a number of ASHRAE committees.

Hauer is chair of the review committee for ANSI/AMCA Standard 205, “Energy Efficiency Classification for Fans;” vice chair of the review committee for AMCA Publication 211, “Certified Ratings Program Product Rating Manual for Fan Air Performance;” and a member of the Americas Region Steering Committee. Additionally, he chairs the fans working group of the mechanical subcommittee for ANSI/ASHRAE/IES 90.1, “Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings;” ASHRAE Technical Committee (TC) 5.1, “Fans;” the project committee for ASHRAE Standard 222, “Standard Method of Test for Electrical Power Drive Systems;” the Handbook committee for ASHRAE TC 1.9, “Electric Systems;” the standards committee for ASHRAE TC 1.11, “Electric Motors and Motor Control;” and the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute Blower, Fan, and Motor product section.

Rizk is chair of the AMCA Sand Louver Committee, developer of the wind-driven-sand-resistance test in ANSI/AMCA Standard 500-L, “Laboratory Methods of Testing Louvers for Rating.” He is active in promoting the AMCA Certified Ratings Program through the AMCA Middle East Steering Committee. The term for each seat on the AMCA board of directors is three years.

The 2019 AMCA Annual Meeting sees the conclusion of the terms of two members of the AMCA board of directors: chairman Doug Yamashita, executive vice president of sales and marketing, Acme Engineering & Manufacturing Corp., and Cuaderno.
