WASHINGTON — The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) was honored by its peers as the Member Association of the Year at the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Conference in Mexico City. FIDIC also honored ACEC’s immediate past president and CEO, David Raymond, with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of work benefiting consulting engineers in the U.S. and around the world.
“We are honored to have been recognized by our international peer associations for our legislative advocacy, our member service, and for the quality of our magazine,” said Linda Bauer Darr, president and CEO, ACEC. “These awards wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our talented and dedicated staff, the commitment of our 52 member organizations, and, above all, the thousands of engineering firms we collectively represent.”
“I am also pleased to have been able to accept Dave Raymond’s Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf,” Darr added. “Dave was a steady hand guiding ACEC for many years and the victories we had in advocacy — whether in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act or on QBS — were largely due to his leadership. I am grateful for the legacy he left for me to inherit.”
