ABMA members honored for 125, 100, and 75 years of membership
The American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) recognized the historic tenure of some of its members during the association’s annual meeting, January 18-21, in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Johnston Boiler Company joined ABMA as one of its Founding Members in 1889 and is the only founding member with continuous involvement in ABMA for more than 125 years. For 150 years, Johnston Boiler has been manufacturing large Scotch Marine firetube boilers and pioneered the first water backed boiler over 100 years ago and the first packaged boiler over 65 years ago.
Babcock and Wilcox (B&W) and Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) joined ABMA in 1918 adding two more companies that have reached the 100-year mark with the association. Babcock & Wilcox aims to deliver environmentally conscious, technology-driven solutions and services to energy and industrial customers worldwide. The year 2017 marked their 150th anniversary. Hartford Steam Boiler has provided equipment breakdown insurance and other specialty insurance and reinsurance coverages worldwide for over 150 years.
Clark Reliance (1927), Detroit Stoker Company (1937), and Hays Cleveland (1938) have achieved at least 75 years since they joined ABMA.
Clark-Reliance is a manufacturer serving the level indication and control, sightflow indication, and filtration and separation industries. The company was originally founded in 1884 as the Reliance Gauge Column Company.
