Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) says it has introduced the first transcritical CO2 TrilliumSeries Condenser that can be applied throughout the United States. According to the company, energy efficient, economical CO2 refrigeration systems have previously been limited to colder climates due to the limitations of air cooled gas coolers. With the TrilliumSeries™ Condenser’s adiabatic design, it is possible to eliminate these restrictions and apply transcritical CO2 in warmer climates. Benefits of CO2 refrigeration systems include energy savings, no regulatory liability or restrictions, no expensive future retrofits due to refrigerant phase out, reduced system carbon footprint, and low installed cost.
