Danfoss was named the overall winner in the 2018 AHR Expo Innovation Awards. The announcement was made on Jan. 23 at McCormick Place in Chicago, where reps for Danfoss were on hand to accept the award.

The annual competition recognizes inventive HVACR products, systems, and technologies featured at the 2018 AHR Expo. Those technologies are grouped in 10 product categories with one overall winner taking the top prize. Danfoss, which was the winner in the green building category, was the overall winner for its Turbocor® TTH/TGH High Lift Compressor.

The compressor is optimized for air-cooled chiller and heat recovery applications. Engineered for high-lift applications, including air-cooled chillers and heat recovery, Danfoss Turbocor® TTH/TGH models feature oil-free, variable speed, magnetic bearing operation for full- and part-load efficiency, low vibration and sound, a small footprint, and reduced maintenance. It also provides an expanded operating map suitable for air-cooled chiller and heat recovery applications.

The other 2018 winners included Setra Systems Inc. in the building automation category, Emerson in the cooling category, Calefactio for heating products, Spartan Bioscience for indoor air quality, AquaMotion Inc. for plumbing, Chemours in the refrigeration category, Regal in the software group, Fluke Corp. for tools and instruments, and Triatek in the ventilation category.
