Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc. will host a complimentary webinar entitled “Staying Ahead of Rulemaking Proposals on Acceptable Refrigerants.” The webinar will be broadcast August 26 at 11 a.m. PDT/2 p.m. EDT.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed several changes under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program. Under its most recent Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR), numerous hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and HFC-containing blends previously listed as acceptable will be listed as unacceptable for some uses. This will affect supermarket systems, stand-alone equipment, condensing units, and even vending machines.

This ninth installment in Emerson’s ongoing Making Sense webinar series will explain the current status of the NOPR; explore compliant, low-GWP refrigerant alternatives; and discuss the challenges faced by equipment and component manufacturers as well as endusers. With the 60-day comment period on the NOPR underway, Emerson officials said the webinar is a timely event featuring a panel of experts ready to address any related questions.
