KMC Controls was honored for taking its “green” message to social media. The controls company was presented with a 2013 APEX Award in the category of Green Social Media. KMC was the only winner in the category.

The company has been using its Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube pages to promote green building products and technologies.

The APEX Awards is an annual competition for writers, editors, and business and nonprofit entities. According to the APEX 2013 announcement, “The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.”

In this 25th annual competition, awards were given in 138 communications categories. KMC’s social media collection was one of over 2,400 entries.
