Johnson Controls took time to honor two scholarship winners during its 2013 Energy Efficiency Forum, June 13 in Washington, D.C. Daniel Gretschmann from Blackhawk Technical College and Eric Johnson of Ferris State University are the most recent recipients of the Rees Scholarship.

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute started the scholarship foundation, which awards $2,000 scholarships to eligible students each year.

David Myers, president of building efficiency at Johnson Controls and a member of the Rees Scholarship Board, took time during the Energy Efficiency Forum to explain why the program is so valuable. He said that the HVACR industry needs a strong workforce in order to solve issues such as energy efficiency.
