The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) has begun a new intelligent buildings landmark research study that will examine the impact of smart grids and net zero energy on commercial buildings.

In conjunction with research consultancy BSRIA, CABA presented the project webinar to a record audience of 104 participants this past spring. The complete recorded webinar presentation, slides, and detailed research prospectus can be viewed and downloaded at http://www.caba.org/research/projects/smart-grid-2011.

The research project has been reviewed, approved, and has the consensus endorsement of CABA’s IIBC Executive Committee and IIBC Research Task Force. Organizations such as Cadillac Fairview Corporation, Diebold Incorporated, Philips Research North America, and Shell International have already committed to study participation, with Honeywell International, Siemens Industries Inc., Ingersoll Rand/Trane/Schlage, and several other major organizations expected to join the project’s Steering Committee shortly.
