Denver, Colorado, April 2008 - Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers, Inc. (BGCE) continues to expand upon their commitment to sustainable design by establishing their Lake Tahoe office as the first LEED® Silver Certified project to date in the Truckee area. Currently, this is the highest level of LEED certification in Truckee. The USGBC LEED® green building rating system is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

High-performance buildings reduce operating costs, enhance marketability and help create a sustainable community. Demonstrating their commitment to stewardship and sustainable design was important to the whole staff. “We pride ourselves in smart, responsible design. We feel having an example office is a great way to reinforce our goals while we design buildings for others,” said Mark Schlosser, a BGCE senior associate.

BGCE has been involved with the design and LEED certification of over 50 projects nationwide ranging from small maintenance facilities to five star hotels, such as the Ritz Carlton at Northstar Highlands, California. The firm was also the mechanical and electrical engineer for the Aspen Sundeck Restaurant, one of the first 11 structures to be certified in the late 1990’s by the USGBC’s pilot LEED Program.
