Engineers can simply swap out the included media with UAF’s certified media, producing a compliant filter. Or UAF can produce a framed filter assembly with compliant media to serve as a fan guard and match the fan profile for quick and easy installation.
“By replacing low-budget, non-compliant media with Universal Air Filter media, the filter can quickly and easily comply with industry standards for flame safety and dust filtration,” said Mike Miano, engineering and sales manager at UAF. “Another alternative is to have UAF provide the framed filter assembly to serve as a fan guard or bezel and include the industry standard compliant media.”
UAF’s one-piece framed filter assembly includes a filter, mounting bracket, fan guard and air flow plenum, allowing a quick installation without installation kits and procedures. In addition, UAF offers special metal finishes to match existing enclosures and/or provide protection in corrosive indoor or outdoor environments. Filters with Quadrafoam media also provide an additional layer of protection for flammability, ultraviolet light, hydrolytic stability and fungus resistance.
In its continued quest to lead the industry, Universal Air Filter recently announced that all of its products are now REACH compliant along with RoHS compliant. So engineers who wish to swap out their non-compliant media with UAF’s certified media will have a filter compliant with the following standards and classifications: UL 94 HF-1, UL 60950, EN 60950, ATCA, UL 900 Class 2, CE, UL 508A, Telcordia, NEBS GR-78-CORE and GR-63-CORE, micro TCA and ETSI.
