Tridium, Inc.has released the latest software update for the NiagaraAX, Framework, the company's leading automation infrastructure and device-to-enterprise integration platform. With the release of NiagaraAX 3.4, users have new additions that expand the functionality and manageability of the platform.

NiagaraAX 3.4 adds a broad set of new support capabilities and features including:

64-bit Windows Support.Support for the 64-bit Windows OS has been added to this release, enabling a higher capacity AX Supervisor. As a result, more resources are now available for the Java environment thus allowing larger systems to be supported by an AX Supervisor.

Redhat Linux Support for X86 Platforms.Tridium has added a new option for the Framework's AX Supervisor to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

MySQL Support.A new driver supporting the MySQL database has been is now available.

IPv6 Support.Support for IPv6 has been incorporated. IPv6 is the next generation protocol designed to gradually replace the current version Internet Protocol, IP Version 4 (IPv4).

Also integrated in this release is an Object Relational Mapping API feature which provides a mechanism for Niagara applications to store components in a relational database for use by applications with large quantities of data. In addition, an enhanced Niagara Virtual Points feature has been included to provide a way to monitor data that is important but not required in the control logic, alarming, or trend data. This gives users the advantage of not taking up permanent database space or consuming network bandwidth for data that is rarely accessed.
