Greg Scheu to head Power Products, Rick Hepperla moves to Automation Products.
ABB announced two key appointments to its North American management team: Greg Scheu, currently senior vice president of the company’s Automation Products division in North America, will now head the company’s Power Products division in North America, the largest of ABB’s businesses in the region; and filling Scheu’s vacancy in Automation Products for North America will be Rick Hepperla.
Hepperla currently serves as Local Business Unit manager of ABB’s North American low voltage drives unit based in New Berlin, WI. Enrique Santacana, president and CEO of ABB Inc., noted that the moves reflected the company’s bullish outlook on the North American market.
“We’ve enjoyed market-leading success over the past several years, and this region had a lot to do with that,” said Santacana. “Greg and Rick have both been instrumental in the execution of our overall strategy focusing on energy efficiency, grid reliability and industrial productivity. I look forward to working closely with both of them going forward.”
Both Scheu and Hepperla will report to Santacana as well as taking up roles in the global management teams of their respective divisions, Scheu reporting to Bernhard Jucker in Power Products and Hepperla to Tom Sjoekvist in Automation Products.
Scheu will focus on the strategic development and continued profitable growth of Power Products in the region, focusing particularly on the growing need of utilities and industrial customers for reliable electricity. Since joining ABB in 2001, Scheu has held several senior leadership positions in the Automation Products division, most recently as Region Division manager for North America.
Hepperla will focus on the strategic development and continued profitable growth of Automation Products in the region. He joined ABB in 2003 as Local Business Unit manager of low voltage drives in the U.S., and guided the unit to record performance.
