The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc.
(AMCA International) will be heading to Las Vegas, NV, March 2-7, 2008 for its
annual spring meetings. During this time human resources and manufacturing
executives (HR/ME), sales and marketing executives, and managers, host their
annual educational and informative meetings.
Traditionally included, along with these meetings are the
AMCA International/UL meetings. This
year AMCA’s Engineering Conference will take place at this time as well. The
Event kicks off Sunday, March 2 with a combined dinner reception for all
meeting attendees at the Orleans Hotel bowling alley. On Monday, March 3, the HR/ME Council attendees will be touring
the Fan Equipment Company Manufacturing Plant, giving attendees an opportunity
to view various everyday plant operations. Topics on the agenda for the March
2-4, 2008 HR/ME Meetings are to include Affirmative Action Plans, employee
benefits, and production methods.
The AMCA International Sales and Marketing Council Meeting
will be held March 2-4, 2008. Featured
topics include Branding and Positioning Your Green Building Offerings, Digital Buildings & Your Technology
Roadmap, and Growing a Green Marketing
Plan. This year’s Lunch speaker is
Terry Townsend, 2006-2007 ASHRAE president. Terry’s presentation will be
accredited for one Professional Development Hour (PDH). This lunch is open to
non-members at a cost of $65. The topic covered during this one hour lunch
session is entitled What Green Means to the HVAC Industry. The Sales and
Marketing Council has also planned a group golf outing, taking place on Sunday,
March 2, 2008.
The AMCA International Engineering Conference will be held
March 2-4, 2008. The conference is open
to non AMCA members and is accredited for 12 Professional Development Hours
(PDH). Over the three days there will
be several engineers speaking on various topics such as: Fan Performance and
Time, Impeller Fatigue Assessment Using an S-N Approach, and Pressure Against
Flowrate.
The AMCA International/UL Spring Meeting will be held March
4-7, 2008. During this time the AMCA
Louver Engineering Committee, AMCA’s Damper Engineering Committee, and the AMCA
Code Action & Review Committee meetings will be held. A reception/dinner will be following these
meetings along with the UL Damper Industry Meeting which will be held on March
6.
