IAPMO is a California-based, mutual benefit non-profit corporation. Since 1926, IAPMO has been dedicated to the protection of public health and safety through its development and maintenance of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC). IAPMO provides numerous industry services, including the dissemination of seminars, administration of certification programs, and the development of numerous support services and documents for the UPC and UMC. Currently, these are the most widely adopted codes of their kind and can be found in over 35 states.
IAPMO has over 3,000 members representing every facet of the plumbing and mechanical industry including governmental jurisdictions, inspectors from jurisdictions throughout the U.S., manufacturers, labor representatives, and journeymen and apprentices.
Also joining the ISH North America endorsing team is The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) based in Illinois. Founded in 1933 as a non-profit educational society, the society’s mission is to advance the HVACR industry by furthering the education and skills of the practicing service professional.
With 20,000 members, over 400 chapters, and tens of thousands of additional technicians who routinely use its training materials in 50 countries, RSES is an organization dedicated to professional HVACR technicians and contractors. The society launched the original industry competency measure with its Certificate Member examination in 1935, and now features six additional Specialist categories. Since 1991, RSES has certified over 150, 000 technicians in the proper handling of refrigerants.
ISH North America will be held from October 1-3, 2003 at the new Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Convention Center in Las Vegas. Over 500 companies are expected to present their latest products and services to an audience approaching 15,000 trade buyers and visitors.
