The Sustainable Buildings Industry Council's (SBIC) 2004 Forum will host its third annual Forum, titled "Cents and Sustainability: The Ripple Effects of Integrated Design," at AIA headquarters in Washington, October 13, 2004. The event is sponsored by the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (AIA COTE).

During the one-day event, the integration of cost-effectiveness and sustainable building design objectives will be explored through panel discussions, presentations, and Q&A sessions. The synergies and conflicts of integrating sustainability with cost-effectiveness in building design from several perspectives (residential, federal, commercial, and academic) will also be considered.

Attendees will receive a complimentary CD-ROM containing the DOE's Federal Energy Management Program's "The Business Case for Sustainable Design in Federal Facilities" and the U.S. General Services Administration's landmark LEED Cost Study.

Also, during the 2004 SBIC Awards ceremony and reception the 2004 "Best Sustainable Practice" and "Exemplary Sustainable Building" Award winners will be honored. For more information or to register online, visit www.SBICouncil.org/prog_forum2004.htm.
