From Misonix, Inc. (Farmingdale, NY), the advanced monitoring system of its "Aura" ductless fume enclosure features a digital display of face velocity, designed to ensure that users are working within OSHA requirements. Sophisticated and sensitive control sensors determine chemical breakthrough based on type of solvents used within the enclosure, says the company. Additionally, visual and audible alarms are designed to alert operators if airflow is at an unsafe level or if filters are approaching saturation. The Aura 550E also incorporates audible and visual warnings to alert the operator if airflow velocities reach unsafe levels, it says.
