Isofrax Thermal Insulation products are made from what the company calls "a revolutionary new fibre that utilizes a unique, patented silica, magnesia chemistry with high temperature (2,300ºF) performance characteristics," and is in compliance with European regulatory requirements. The company, Unifax Corp. (Niagara Falls, NY), says its product has been specifically engineered to have an enhanced dissolution rate "which results in reduced pulmonary biopersistence relative to other high temperature fibre formulations." The 1260C Fibre is used in the manufacture of many high-temperature products such as felts, boards, papers, and vacuum cast shapes. The 1260C Blanket is an organic needled insulation blanket which is manufactured using 1260C spun fibres, it says.
