Hoping to invigorate his energy proposal, President George W. Bush called for more research into developing energy-efficient products and said he wants the federal government to do more to conserve power--starting in his own house.

Bush also sent to Congress a summary of his energy proposals that call for expanded oil and gas development and removal of “regulatory barriers'” on energy development and distribution. The plan also includes a call for tax breaks to encourage energy conservation and investments in renewable energy sources.
