ASHRAE Seminar: HVACR Organizations to Discuss Mold, Humidity
The problem of mold in buildings with excess moisture will be addressed by six major HVACR organizations during a seminar at the ASHRAE 2003 Annual Meeting. "Preventing mold problems in buildings and HVAC systems is a shared responsibility among all parties involved in the design, specifications, construction, commission, maintenance and use of buildings," Raymond Patenaude, P.E., who will chair the session, said. "Mold problems often seem to occur where responsibilities overlap or where there are gaps in which professions are not aware of a responsibility."
With this seminar, ASHRAE hopes to establish good communication and cooperation among professionals who share responsibility for building environments. Mold in the HVACR Industry will be held as part of the technical program at the meeting, June 28-July 2, in Kansas City. The seminar will be held from 8-10 a.m. June 30. It is sponsored by ASHRAE's Environmental Health Committee.
